Shijō - Sushi & Ramen in Wurzburg

Very fantastic sushi! I ordered close to closing and it was no problem, very fast. We ordered the sushi for two and considered it good value. This is my new favourite place. Ample soya sauce and garnish Fish was high quality Rice was good too Very friendly staff

One of the best sushi joints in town! After a few bites I knew I was in for a treat. It was perfect till the end. Been there a few times already and noticed the owner behind the bar every time putting 110% in very roll. Can’t wait to come back again and again!

This restaurant is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. everytime I want to go to a superb supper, this restaurant comes first to my head. outstanding and all kinds of food and a rich menu.courteous staff, and pleasant ambience. And very important, the charge is good. I recommend this place with pleasure.

We got there at 4:59 and were the first ones there on a Thursday. The restaurant stayed pretty empty. The food was pricey and just ok. I got Combo B for $17.25

Came here with my family tonight and it is hands down the best Japanese food I've ever had. On top of that, the workers are incredibly kind and the service is amazing. Despite the restaurant's humble appearance, the food itself serves as the highest caliber of Japanese cuisine. It truly is a hidden gem.

Always have the best time here! The sushi and rolls are beautifully plated and so tasty! We tried their new menu items including the Sashimi Ceviche which was delicious!! Will be back for more! Thanks to Chef Sam for his beautiful food artwork

did not deliver ice swan to my house

Ordered from this place for pick up and was honestly not very impressed. To start, their website is just absolutely terrible. This place might have the most unintuitive website I have ever seen. You shouldn't have to click forward and back 20 times just get through the entire menu and when you add items to the cart, it refreshed the whole page. It's basically impossible to order from online through their website. Not only that, but it looked very incomplete and very amateurish on mobile. The flimsy brown paper bag they gave my boyfriend and I for our food ripped open during the walk from the restaurant to the car (we only ordered 4 items). Luckily, we were inside the car when it ripped. What was really annoying was that they didn't saran wrap our miso soup and the containers were not liquid tight. A quarter of the miso soup ended up in the paper bag and another quarter got into the car when we tried to wipe it clean. We ended up having to hold the miso soup the entire drive home (25 minutes) just to minimize spills. The miso soup that spilled in the paper bag also ended up soaking through to the seats. Wish they would have been more thoughtful and accommodating. Every other restaurant that we order soup from always spill proof their containers. While the sushi and presentation was good, the execution was not. The sushi was poorly rolled so it was very difficult to pick up in one piece and the bottom was often falling apart. The rice also stuck to the container, making it an even bigger struggle to eat. All in all, just a very disappointing experience especially since this was a place we were really looking forward to trying after seeing everyone rave about it.

As someone who deals with multiple clients for a living at any given time, I know that every businesses make mistakes one way or another, but it's about what measures you take to make the customer experience right. Wendy at Shijo went above and beyond. I was frustrated when I learned that I paid for an online order at Shijo only to find out that the store was closed for the long weekend when I went to pick up my food. I was upset, and I emailed them and asked for a refund. Not only did Wendy respond within the day and process the refund and fix the problem on their website, she profusely apologized for the poor experience and offered another pickup completely on the house. I went in a few days later and got the exact same order. Wendy personally greeted me and apologized for the experience. It's so rare to see businesses go above and beyond to make the customer experience right. The cherry on top from this experience was that the food itself was excellent as well. Very well done, Wendy and team at Shijo - thank you for going above and beyond. My wife and I will be a loyal customer for years to come.

Awesome little place serving authentic sushi and other dishes. Nice atmosphere and great staff. A bit hidden away, but a must if you're in Kensington.

Food is super refined and everything tasted great. Ordered the king and queen platter and two more rolls and a couple of appetizers to share with 4 people and only came up to $35/person. Service was attentive.

Ive eaten sushi all across Canada, Shijo ranks in my favourites. One of the best in Calgary for sure! Friendly staff, great service, and delicious food and very reasonably priced. The rice is very well seasoned, the fish is always fresh and it's well put together. Their Wasabi is fire!

A great place for creative Maki!

Fresh, Creative and affordable. I ordered the assorted sashimi and was very pleased with the freshness and portions of the cuts. We also had the miso black cod, various rolls and appetizers and really enjoyed everything. Will be back for sure!

This is my first choice for sushi in Calgary. Hands down! The best Sashimi and the best Rolls for a good price. Sam is the chef and owner and he prides himself on quality fish and creative presentation. The sashimi is some of the best we have had. Their rolls are delicious and beautifully presented. Such a great addition to Kensington. It is a warm and cozy restaurant with very friendly staff. Don't waste your time or money on Fusion "all you can eat" it is garbage!!

Delicious! Great presentation, great atmosphere, friendly staff, service is fast, lots of seating, clean dining area. This was an enjoyable experience :) We had the King and Queen platter, miso soup, and seaweed salad. For drinks: two sapporo's!!

Tempura wasn't that great but the sushi was amazing.

I had a bit of time before my dentist appointment and I went in for lunch. It's a small place but very cozy. The staff are very friendly. The food is well priced and the sushi is very fresh and tasty. I ordered the lunch bento box which was the perfect size. I also ordered a few nigiri sushi pieces and it came served in this beautifully delicate tagine like glass structure (see pic below). Good place for sushi.

Decided to try this place out becuase we had some sushi cravings. We ordered a 12 piece sashimi combo, 2 cones and 2 chefs special rolls and was pretty excited to get our food. Never would I have imagine how disappointed we were with the food. I'll start with the 1) Sashimi - presentation was nice as it came with a Phoenix ice sculpture which was pretty cool. But the sashimi pieces were a very big disappointment and a joke. Our salmon and tuna pieces were very small and probably the size of my asian thumb or 3/5th the size of a white eraser. The other pieces were paper thin...... For 24$ it was totally overpriced and a massive disappointment. You should take off the ice sculpture and serve proper sized sashimi.... 2) the cone - I got the spicy tuna cone and my friend got the spicy salmon. Let me say, the cones were not spicy at all and literally 1 bite size cone. Becuase you can tell the chef cheap out on the rice and salmon/tuna portions.... I also had a fishy taste for my tuna cone which shows the quality of food as very poor. 3) the 2 "Chef" special rolls... I don't even know where to start. We got the chefs scallop roll and the jalapeno salmon roll. The scallop roll had pieces of poorly cut salmon on top which made it seem like the chefs were trying to puzzle salmon pieces together so they didnt have to recut proper pieces. Again, cheap rice portions. We has the same issue with the Jalapeno salmon roll. TBH the rolls we got were probably half the size of a roll you can get at Sushi zipang and first the same price!! After paying $70 for 2 people. We ended up getting McDonalds . Definitely will not be back to this place.. Shijo Sushi tries to create a memorable high end food experience with ice sculptures, cool plating and fancy touches to the plate and cheaps out on rice and sashimi portions........

Shijo Sushi is my first choice for sushi in Calgary. The fish is fresh, flavors and combinations amazing, and the plates are always beautifully done. Great rolls and the specials are always worth trying. Love this place!!
